Winter Park, Fla. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Lacrosse Team (3-8, 1-4) picked up its first-ever Deep South Conference victory as it held on to defeat Rollins College (Fla.), 13-12, Sunday afternoon at Showalter Field.

L-R freshmen Tyler Kotch (Butler, Pa.), Anthony Mangili (Durham, N.C.) and Robert Darrow (Fort Myers, Fla.) all scored three goals to lead the Bears to the win.

Sophomore Fred Waddle (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added two assists and freshman Patrick Stasio (Williamsville, N.Y.) picked up the win in goal after saving 18 shots for Lenoir-Rhyne as well.

Austin Ricci (Winter Park, Fla.) led all scorers with six goals while Eric Schmit (Deephaven, Minn.) tallied two goals and three assists for Rollins (2-8, 0-6), who lost despite a 48-32 advantage in shots taken and a 41-20 edge in ground balls.

Darrow broke an 11-all tie with a goal with 7:35 left in regulation which proved to be the game-winner.

The Tars' goalkeeper, Doug O'Brien (New Vernon, N.J.), suffered the loss despite making six saves on the afternoon.

Lenoir-Rhyne takes on St. Leo (Fla.) in a conference match next Sunday in its home finale at Moretz Stadium beginning at Noon. Rollins travels to Laurinburg, N.C., to play St. Andrews Presbyterian Friday at 3:30 p.m.
