L-R's Cameron Sealey Named The South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player Of The Week

Senior from Mount Holly, N.C., is the second Bear to win the award this year

Rock Hill, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne's Cameron Sealey (Mount Holly, N.C.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.

Sealey, a senior guard, averaged 17.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in leading to Lenoir-Rhyne to three wins over the weekend at the 2011 Mt. McKinley Bank North Star Invitational in Fairbanks, Alaska, and helping the Bears capture the tournament championship.

In the last contest Saturday night, Sealey scored a game-high 24 points to go along with four assists and four rebounds in a 57-44 victory over Alaska-Fairbanks.

For her efforts, Sealey was named the North Star Invitational's Most Valuable Player.

Sealey, a two-time All-South Atlantic Conference honoree (2009-11), currently leads the team in scoring (18.3 ppg) and three-pointers made (14) this year for the Bears.

Sealey is also ranked 12th on Lenoir-Rhyne's all-time scoring list with 1,171 points.

Sealey shares the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player-Of-The-Week award with Carson-Newman's Zoriah Williams (Calera, Alabama) this week.

Lenoir-Rhyne (6-1) opens league play on Wednesday when the Bears host the Lions of Mars Hill (3-2) in Shuford Memorial Gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m.
