Charlotte, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf Team is in 13th place after shooting a 334 (+46) on the first day of the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate Monday at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.
Barry (Fla.) leads the tournament after the first 18 holes with a 307 (+19) on the par-72, 5,823-yard course.
Meanwhile, Barry's Daniela Murray and Queens' Laura Belanger both shot a 74 (+2) and are tied for first as the top two individuals.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior Katie Thackerson (Earl, N.C.) is tied for third overall with a 76 (+4) as the Bears' top golfer so far after the first round of play.
Junior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) shot an 80 (+8), good for a 26th-place tie, while senior Ashley Shealy (Lexington, S.C.) is tied for 70th with an 88 (+16) for L-R as well.
The second and final round of the tournament takes place on Tuesday.
