Freshman from Atlanta, Ga., scores seven goals to lead the Bears to a 2-0 week
Lenoir-Rhyne University's Ned Kaish has been selected as the Deep South Conference Men's Lacrosse Freshman Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Wingate, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne's Ned Kaish has been selected as the Deep South Conference Freshman Of The Week for men's lacrosse, league officials announced this afternoon.
Kaish, a native of Atlanta, Ga., scored seven goals and added an assist in leading L-R to a pair of conference victories at home last week over Florida Tech (17-9) and Rollins (17-16) on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Kaish led all scorers with four goals in the win over the Panthers Friday night before scoring three times and tallying an assist in the double overtime win against the Tars on Sunday.
Against Rollins, Lenoir-Rhyne overcame a six-goal, first-period deficit to win its second consecutive match.
Kaish currently leads the Bears in goals scored this year with 30 and is second in points with 37 as well.
Catawba's Braden Artem (Acton, Ontario, CANADA) and Saint Leo's Robert Hutchinson (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) were named the Deep South Conference Offensive and Defensive Players Of The Week, respectively.
Lenoir-Rhyne University (4-10, 2-6) returns to action on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Coker College in its final regular season match of the year at Moretz Stadium beginning at 2:00 p.m.
