Starkville, Miss. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team has moved up six spots to No. 15 in this week's NFCA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll. NFCA is the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
L-R, winners of nine straight contests, won both the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the second consecutive year in 2012.
The Bears are also 46-11 on the season and ranked third in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Regional rankings. The top eight teams from each region earn a berth to the national tournament.
The pairings for the 2012 NCAA Division II Softball playoffs will be announced on Monday, April 30.
The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Current 2012 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
