Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Finishes The 2012 Season With A No. 20 National Ranking

Bears conclude the 2012 campaign with a 48-13 record and a seventh straight trip to the playoffs

Starkville, Miss. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team finished the 2012 season ranked No. 20 in the final NFCA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll.  NFCA is the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Valdosta State (Ga.), with a record of 58-5, is the top team after winning the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship.

Lenoir-Rhyne finished the season with a 48-13 record, a 14-4 mark in league play and won both the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the third consecutive year in 2012.

The Bears also advanced to the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the seventh season in a row and earned a spot in the Southeast Regional Finals this year.

Since the start of the 2006 season, Lenoir-Rhyne has compiled a record of 288-68-1 for a winning percentage of 81.8.

Since 2000, L-R has captured eight conference regular season championships, seven league tournament titles and has made eight trips to the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

The NFCA NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Final 2012 records are shown with first-place votes in parentheses.
