Bears improve to 3-3 on the season with a pair of victories on Saturday

Misenheimer, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (3-3) picked up a pair of 3-0 victories over Winston-Salem State and Pfeiffer Saturday on the final day of the Pfeiffer Invitational at Merner Gymnasium.

The Bears defeated the Rams by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 30-28 and were led by freshman outside hitter Morgan Bunker (Mount Airy, N.C.) with eight kills while senior setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.) added 23 assists and seven digs in the win.
Winston-Salem State's Katelyn Signala (Douglas, Wyoming) finished with a team-high seven kills in the loss.
As a team, the Bears hit .270 on the day and added 10 service aces as well.
The Bears defeated the host school, the Falcons, by a scores of 25-18, 25-11 and 25-12 as six players finished with four or more kills for Lenoir-Rhyne.
Lutz finished with 23 assists for the second straight game while Pfeiffer's Jordan O'Bryant (Reidsville, N.C.) finished with seven kills in the losing effort.
Lenoir-Rhyne next hosts Newberry in its South Atlantic Conference and home opener next Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.
