North Georgia Gets By Lenoir-Rhyne, 1-0, In Men's Soccer

Dahlonega, Ga. - The North Georgia Men's Soccer Team (2-2) scored the lone goal of the match in the 79th minute in a 1-0 shutout of Lenoir-Rhyne (1-2-1) Tuesday evening at the North Georgia Complex.

At the 78:49 mark of the second half, the Saints' Manuel Hernandez (VENEZUELA, Universidad Rafael Urdaneta) headed the ball into the net for the game-winning goal.

James Dobbin (Portsmouth, ENGLAND) and goalkeeper Kristopher Alonzo (Dacula, Ga.) were both credited with the assist on the play.

North Georgia held a 21-8 advantage in shots taken while Alonzo picked up the shutout in goal after stopping three L-R shots.

Lenoir-Rhyne took the loss despite the play of junior goalkeeper Stefan Dill (Southampton, BERMUDA).  Dill allowed just one goal while tallying three saves as well in the setback.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to open South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday against Wingate at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex.  Match time is set for 7:30 p.m.

North Georgia, meanwhile, remains at home to face Young Harris on Saturday night beginning at 7:30 p.m., as well in a Peach Belt Conference match.
