Greeneville, Tenn. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team shot a 289 (+5) and sits in second place after the first day Monday of the Tusculum Fall Classic at the Link Hills Country Club.
Lincoln Memorial leads with a 283 (-1) on the par-71, 6,763-yard course.
The Railsplitters' Jamie Chapman and Connor Froning are both tied for first after carding a four-under 67 in the first round of play.
L-R is led by junior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.), who is in fourth with a 69 (-2), while sophomore Zach Burket (Taylorsville, N.C.) is tied for seventh with a 72 (+1).
On the women's side, Lincoln Memorial also leads with a 308 (+20) on the par-72, 5,805-yard course.
Lincoln Memorial's Brittany McCown leads with an ever-par 72 while L-R senior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) is the Bears' top golfer after firing an 89 (+17). Katsch is currently in 43rd place after the first round of play.
The second and final round of the tournament takes place on Tuesday.
