Lenoir-Rhyne Ties For Ninth At The State Farm Men's Golf Intercollegiate

Pineville, Ky. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team shot a 607 (+31) to finish in a ninth-place tie at the State Farm Intercollegiate which concluded Tuesday at the Wasioto Winds Golf Course.
King won with a 582 (+6) on the par-72, 7,037-yard course and beat the host school, Lincoln Memorial, by two strokes. Lincoln Memorial's Jamie Chapman won the tournament with a five-under 139.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by junior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.), who tied for 15th overall with a 149 (+5).
Freshman David Donovan (Hampstead, N.C.) and sophomore Zach Burket (Taylorsville, N.C.) both tied for 26th overall after carding a 151 (+7) for the tournament.
L-R senior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) led the women's squad at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, which also concluded Tuesday at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, N.C.
Katsch tied for 17th with a 158 (+14) while freshman Elizabeth Ewing (Greensboro, N.C.) shot a 178 (+34) to tie for 72nd overall for the Bears.
Newberry shot a 598 (+22) on the par-72, 5,998-yard course to place first and had the top golfer in the tournament in Barbara Castro. Castro won the invitational with a 142 (-2).
The two tournaments conclude the fall season for the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Golf Teams.
