Hickory, N.C. - The Catawba Women's Tennis Team (12-5, 2-2) beat Lenoir-Rhyne (0-6, 0-5), 8-1, in a South Atlantic Conference match Tuesday afternoon at Hickory High School.

L-R did manage to win at third doubles behind the tandem of sophomore Maggie Brown (Cranford, N.J.) and junior Lacey Lapp (Maitland, Fla.).

Brown and Lapp downed Catawba's Rachel Rudisill (Gastonia, N.C.) and Andrea Bell (Franklin, N.C.) by a score of 8-5.

Lenoir-Rhyne steps out of conference play to face Young Harris in Young Harris, Ga., on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Catawba, meanwhile, takes on Anderson in Anderson, S.C., tomorrow afternoonin a league showdown. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
