Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis Team (0-11, 0-9) saw its regular season come to a close with a 7-2 defeat to the hands of Carson-Newman (7-7, 1-4) Monday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action at Hickory High School.

Despite the loss, Lenoir-Rhyne junior Lacey Lapp (Maitland, Fla.) won at both singles and doubles play for the Bears.

Lapp teamed with sophomore Maggie Brown (Cranford, N.J.) to beat Carson-Newman's Brooke Sanderson (Evans, Ga.) and Megan Wilson (Maryville, Tenn.), 8-4, to win at third doubles.

Lapp also defeated the Eagles' Jennifer Ott (Knoxville, Tenn.), 6-4 and 6-2, at No. 4 singles.

Carson-Newman next faces North Georgia on Wednesday afternoon beginning at Noon.
