Box Score

Misenheimer, N.C. – The No. 22 Lenoir-Rhyne University Women’s Basketball Team (7-1) won its seventh straight contest with a 64-54 victory over Pfeiffer University (2-4) Saturday evening at Merner Gymnasium.  L-R sophomore guard Cameron Sealey (Gastonia, N.C.) led the Bears with a double-double, 18 points and 10 rebounds, in the road victory.

Senior guard Amber Holt (Charlotte, N.C.) added 14 points for the Bears, who have won seven of their first eight games for the second consecutive season.

Lenoir-Rhyne led 33-26 at halftime and extended its advantage to 46-33, its largest of the evening, on a three-point play by senior guard Brittany Mitch (McLean, Va.) early in the second half.

However, Pfeiffer rallied to cut the margin to one at 54-53 on a lay-up by Kellie Rhoney (Catawba, N.C.) late in the game but Lenoir-Rhyne responded with three straight free throws before a trey and a lay-up by Holt put the contest away with just under two minutes left.

The Lady Falcons were led by Brittany Cox (Winston-Salem, N.C.) with 13 points but Pfeiffer shot just 36 percent (21-of-58) from the field and turned the ball over 21 times in the losing effort.

Lenoir-Rhyne next travels to Aiken, S.C., to face USC Aiken on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.
