Junior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury finished with a career-high 18 kills despite Lenoir-Rhyne's 3-2 home loss to Montreat Tuesday night.

Hickory, N.C. - The Montreat College Volleyball Team (9-3) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (5-5), 3-2, Tuesday evening at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.  The Cavaliers, who won by scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 24-26 and 15-12, defeated the Bears for the first time in 18 contests between the two schools.

Montreat was led by Anna Stephenson (Lillington, N.C.) with 16 kills while Allison Baumgartner (Charlotte, N.C.) and Hattie Lewis (Morganton, N.C.) added 13 kills each as the Cavaliers increased their winning streak to six matches.

L-R junior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury (Statesville, N.C.) finished with a career-high 18 kills to go along with 10 digs while sophomore setter Cristin Owens (Hendersonville, N.C.) added a double-double as well with 23 assists and 10 digs despite the Bears' fourth straight defeat.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference action on Friday when it hosts Wingate beginning at 7 p.m.  Montreat, meanwhile, hosts Bryan on Friday at 6:30 p.m., in an Appalachian Athletic Conference contest.
