Pooler, Ga. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team shot a 617 (+49) to finish 10th at the 2012 Pirate Invitational, hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State, which concluded Tuesday at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
Georgia College, ranked No. 16 in NCAA Division II, shot a 574 (+6) on the par-71, 6,897-yard course to win the rain-shortened event. Heavy rains shortened the 54-hole tournament to just 36 holes.
Georgia College's Patrick Garrett won the event with a five-under 137 while sophomore David Glenister (Ontario, CANADA) was Lenoir-Rhyne's top golfer for the tournament. Glenister carded a 150 (+8) to tie for 18th overall.
Freshman Zach Burket (Taylorsville, N.C.) tied for 35th after shooting a 153 (+11) while senior Sam Pressley (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished 36 holes with a 157 (+15), good for a 53rd-place tie.
Lenoir-Rhyne next competes in the Richard Rendleman Invitational on March 5 and 6 in Salisbury, N.C., at the Country Club of Salisbury.
