Greeneville, Tenn. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team carded a 575 (+7) to finish in third place at the Tusculum Fall Classic which concluded Tuesday at the Link Hills Country Club.
Lincoln Memorial won the event with a 562 (-6) on the par-71, 6,763-yard course while the Railsplitters' Connor Froning was the top individual after finishing with a six-under 136.
L-R junior John White (Dudley Shoals, N.C.) was the runner-up with a 138 (-4) en route to all-tournament honors while freshman David Donovan (Hampstead, N.C.) placed ninth overall with an even-par 142.
On the women's side, Tusculum won by a one stroke over UNC Pembroke and Lincoln Memorial with a 614 (+38) on the par-72, 5,805-yard course.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by senior Megan Katsch (Wilmington, N.C.) with a 171 (+27) to tie for 35th overall while freshman Elizabeth Ewing (Greensboro, N.C.) carded a 177 (+33), good for a 42nd-place tie.
UNC Pembroke's Meghan Moore won in a playoff over Tusculum's Emee Herbert. Both players shot a 149 (+5).
Lenoir-Rhyne, along with Lincoln Memorial, will host the Myrtle Beach Men's and Women's Intercollegiate next Monday and Tuesday at the Sea Trail Golf Links in Sunset Beach, N.C.
