Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and several of its student-athletes will be hosting The Humane Society of Catawba County (HSCC) on its campus on Saturday, October 20, from Noon to 2:00 p.m., for a Shelter Dog Showcase and Donation Day.
The event will take place prior to Lenoir-Rhyne's home football game with Mars Hill at Moretz Stadium.
The dogs and puppies will be located at the Humane Society tent in the tailgating area just outside the entrance to the practice field gate.
There will be tables set up at each entrance of Moretz Stadium for donations as well as information about the Humane Society and the services they offer to the community.
Please stop by to meet some great dogs looking for "forever homes" or to make a donation. Free Gatorade drinks will be offered to anyone who makes a donation.
Some items on the wish list include Purina One Healthy Kitten and Puppy Food, Purina One Adult Dog and Cat Food, dry kitten and puppy formula, medical exam gloves, distilled water, lint rollers, 45- to 55-gallon commercial grade trash bags, old bath towels and bleach.
The HSCC is a non-profit, no-kill shelter that is always looking for volunteers and donations.
