Pittsburg, Kan. - Lenoir-Rhyne juniors Chandler Rearden and Le'Quan McCorkle have been named to the 2010 NCAA Division II Don Hansen All-American Football Teams. Rearden was named to the second team while McCorkle garnered third-team accolades.
Rearden, an offensive lineman from Greenwood, S.C., has now been named to three different All-American Teams in 2010 (the American Football Coaches Association and the Associated Press Little AA are the other two).
Rearden is a two-time All-South Atlantic Conference First-Team honoree (2008 and 2010) and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy this past fall, given annually to the league's top offensive lineman.
Rearden, a first-team all-region pick by the AFCA, Daktronics and Don Hansen this past fall, is the first player in Lenoir-Rhyne history to win the Jacobs Blocking Trophy.
McCorkle, the team's starting fullback from Sherrills Ford, N.C., was also voted to the Don Hansen All-Super Region 2 First Team after finishing second on the squad in rushing attempts (136) and rushing yards (565) to go along with three touchdowns.
Both players helped Lenoir-Rhyne lead NCAA Division II in rushing (319.5 yards per game) this year.
The Bears also posted their first winning season since 1994. Lenoir-Rhyne went 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the South Atlantic Conference in 2010.
