Mission Statement
The Athletic Training staff strives to set a high standard of care and excellence for our intercollegiate athletic programs. We believe prevention, care and rehabilitation are core issues in a vast interdisciplinary function of Athletic Training.

Philosophy
The Lenoir-Rhyne Athletic Training Team is committed to providing the best care for our student-athletes. Our injury and rehab protocols are developed to help decrease athletic related injuries, improve injury recovery time, and combines strength, flexibility, endurance and sports specific functional activities.

General Overview
The L-R Athletic Training Staff prides itself on providing the most current and comprehensive care available to all of our intercollegiate student-athletes. The prevention of athletic injuries is one of the most important components to an individual's as well as a team's success. However, in the unfortunate event that an athlete is injured, the athletic training staff will care for the athlete from injury to diagnosis to treatment / rehabilitation to return to play. Returning the athlete to the pre-injury level of competition as quickly and safely possible is the ultimate goal of the athletic training staff.

Even after a team's competitive season is completed, the athletic training staff will attempt to follow all injuries to the athlete's pre-injury status. During this time, the staff will analyze past injury data from each athlete and construct a prevention program.

The Goodman Family Sports Medicine Center is located on the 1st floor of the McCrorie Center. The athletic training room includes numerous treatment modalities including electric stimulation, ultrasound, hydrotherapy and cryo-therapy. The hallmark of the athletic training room is our two hydrotherapy tubs (one hot and one cold) and the Biodex (computerized rehabilitation machine).

Whatever the needs are to get our student- athletes back to play, whether it's care and prevention of  injury, referral for general medicine issues, orthopedic or injury rehabilitation, the athletic training staff at Lenoir-Rhyne University is dedicated to providing athletes with the finest care possible.
