MORETZ SPORTS ATHLETIC CAMPUS

Lenoir-Rhyne is dedicated to providing the best student-athlete experience in all of NCAA Division II and that experience starts with state-of-the-art facilities. With that in mind, Lenoir-Rhyne has announced the opening of the Moretz Sports Athletic Campus and is one of the few Division II schools to designate and name an athletic campus. The Moretz Sports Athletic Campus was named in honor of the generosity and longstanding support of alumni Marilyn and John Moretz, and positions LR in the upper echelon of Division II. The Moretz Sports Athletic Campus provides a standard architectural appeal and brand to create a consistent standard of excellence across all athletic facilities. The athletic campus includes a Champions Walk that connects Moretz Stadium and Shuford Arena to the other external venues. Recent renovations to the Moretz Stadium (football/lacrosse), Shuford Arena (basketball/volleyball) and Durham Field (baseball) allow LR student-athletes to have a top-notch student-athlete experience. Coupled with the recently built Neill McGeachy Sports Performance Center which features a state-of-the-art weight room, meeting space and nutrition bar, there truly is no better time to be a Bear!
