Harrogate, Tenn. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (6-1, 3-0) remained unbeaten in South Atlantic Conference play with a 1-0 shutout victory over Lincoln Memorial (4-2, 2-1) Saturday afternoon at the LMU Complex.
Freshman defender Brianna Belsky (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) scored the lone goal of the match for the Bears with just 7:08 remaining in regulation.
Belsky registered her second goal of the season with a long kick from over 30 yards out which sailed over the Lincoln Memorial goalkeeper's hands and proved to be the game-winner.
The Bears, which held a 25-4 advantage in shots taken over the Lady Railsplitters, also won their third consecutive match.
Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Scruggs (Torrance, Calif.) registered her third shutout of the year for Lenoir-Rhyne, who prevailed in its first road contest of the season.
Lincoln Memorial's goalkeeper, Kayla Hanson (Melbourne, Fla.), suffered the loss despite allowing just one goal while tallying eight saves on the afternoon.
Lenoir-Rhyne remains on the road next Saturday when the Bears face Newberry in Newberry, S.C., in a conference contest beginning at 2:00 p.m.? The Bears will enter the match having now won 13 straight league regular season contests.
Lincoln Memorial, meanwhile, plays Asbury (Ky.) in Wilmore, Kentucky, on Tuesday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
