Kansas City, Kan. – Four members of the Lenoir-Rhyne University Women’s Soccer Team have picked up 2015 NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region honors by the NSCAA. NSCAA is the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior forward Garcelle Alequine (Kissimmee, Fla.), a two-time All-American (2013-14), was named to the all-region first team. Alequine finished the year ranked second on the team in goals scored (11) and total points (26).
Alequine is a four-time All-South Atlantic Conference and All-Southeast Region selection who finished her collegiate career with 42 goals, 22 assists and 106 points.
Senior midfielder Emmi Dunn (Reading, Pa.) and senior forward Leah Mullins (Kissimme, Fla.) were named to the all-region second team for the Bears.
Dunn has earned All-Southeast Region accolades for the third straight year after finishing the season with 11 goals including seven on penalty kicks in addition to four match-winners. Dunn had 24 career goals for the Bears.
Mullins led Lenoir-Rhyne in goals scored (16) and total points (32) this year after garnering all-region laurels for the third time. Mullins, the 2012 SAC Freshman Of The Year and Tournament MVP, finished with 39 goals, 10 assists and 88 career points.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior defender Amber Madriaga (Wailuku, Hawaii) was named to the 2015 NSCAA All-Southeast Region Third Team. Madriaga, a three-time All-SAC First Team, anchored a backline which limited its opponents to just 15 goals in 18 matches in addition to 10 shutouts.
All four players led Lenoir-Rhyne to a 58-14-9 record since the start of the 2012 season including a 12-4-2 record (8-2-1 in league play) this year. Lenoir-Rhyne won three straight South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championships and earned three consecutive berths to the postseason (2012-14) as well.
