Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team (3-4, 2-2) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 69-58 win over Brevard (1-6, 0-2) Saturday afternoon at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium in South Atlantic Conference action.

Reed Lucas (Greensboro, N.C.) scored a game-high 25 points – including 16 in the first half – in addition to five treys in the victory.

Jalen Variste (Baton Rouge, Fla.) also scored in double figures - 10 points - for the Bears, who broke a 50-all tie at the 7:00 mark of the second half with a 9-1 run over the next three minutes to take control the rest of the way.
Four players scored in double figures for the Tornados – led by Omar El Diraoui (Beirut, LEBANON) with 14 points – and Brevard rallied from a 31-17 halftime deficit to take the lead briefly in the second half but eventually fell in the end.
Evan Dunham (Marietta, Ga.) and Stevie Williams (High Point, N.C.) added 13 points each for the Tornados, who turned the ball over 18 times in the setback.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to action on Wednesday against Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C., beginning at 7:00 p.m. Brevard takes on Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tenn., on Monday in a conference game beginning at 8:00 p.m.
