Newberry, S.C. – The Newberry Men's Basketball Team (5-1, 1-0) scored the final 13 points of the game to rally and defeat Lenoir-Rhyne (0-4, 0-1), 77-75, Monday evening in the South Atlantic Conference opener at Eleazer Arena.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• The Wolves' Marshall Lange (High Point, N.C.) was one of three players to score in double figures, leading the squad with 18 points on the night.
• Lenoir-Rhyne senior guard
Billy Bales (Elizabethton, Tenn.) led all scorers with 22 points including six treys off the bench to go along with five rebounds while junior guard Cory Thomas (Louisville, Ky.) added 16 points in the setback.
• The contest was a game of runs as the Bears put together a 44-16 run through both halves to turn a 14-point deficit into a 14-point advantage.
• The Wolves were also in control from the free throw line, connecting on 15-of-20 attempts.
• Lenoir-Rhyne junior forward Bertrand Awana (Yaounde, CAMEROON) had a big night – totaling 12 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks – in the losing effort.

• Lenoir-Rhyne has now lost nine straight games dating back to the end of the last year.
