Box Score HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team scored the first 14 points of the game and never looked back in a 101-72 victory over Young Harris in the Bears season opener. LR built a lead of 41-11 en route to topping the century mark for the first time since November 16, 2016.

• The Bears shot a scorching 63.1 percent from the field in the first half and 53 percent from the floor in the game. The hot shooting helped LR build a lead of as much as 35 points in the first half before the Mountain Lions chipped away.

Cory Thomas scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting and added six rebounds in just 24 minutes of action.

Filip Leskovar maximized his playing time, pouring in 10 points and grabbing three boards in just six minutes.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The Bears never trailed in the game as Head Coach
Everick Sullivan earned a win in the season opener for the first time in his three seasons. LR fell to UNC Pembroke the past two seasons in the opener.
• LR dominated the lane, outscoring the Mountain Lions 60-32 in the paint. The Bears also held a 16-4 advantage in fast break points.
