CHARLOTTE, N.C.– The No. 44 Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis Team had no problem with Johnson C. Smith on Saturday morning, coming away with a 6-1 victory.

"It was pleasing to get everyone some playing time today and work on a couple of things ahead of our remaining SAC matches," said Head Coach Tom Rees.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bears opened the early morning match with a strong showing in doubles action to grab the point. Despite a loss in first doubles, Marta Escanero and Sophia Di Camillo grabbed a 6-2 win in second doubles and the duo of Diana Babinets and Spencer Cochran also won 6-2 in the third spot to give LR a 1-0 advantage.

The Bears took wins in all but first singles in individual action to claim the 6-1 win. Ally Garofoli took a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the second spot, followed by a 6-0, 6-2 win by Sanne Janssen in the third spot. Lucy Whelan, Coachran and Di Camillo closed out singles play with victories.
