HICKORY, N.C. -- After ending the 39-game winning streak of Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, the Bears are receiving votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Top 25 poll. After the loss, the Railsplitters dropped from No. 2 to No. 6.
Lenoir-Rhyne was last nationally ranked in 2018 and earned eight votes for the top 25. The Bears are one of four South Atlantic Conference teams in the top 25 or receiving votes category, joining LMU, Queens and Tusculum.
At 3-1, Lenoir-Rhyne has a pair of games scheduled this week. On Wednesday, LR travels to UVA Wise and then is scheduled to head to Carson-Newman on Saturday. This will mark the first week this season that Lenoir-Rhyne will play two games.
