COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After an unprecedented run in the NCAA Tournament, the Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer team fell to No. 1 Grand Valley State 3-0 in the national semifinals on Thursday afternoon in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The defending national champion Lakers scored a goal in the 4th minute, added another right before halftime and were in control for most all of the 90 minutes. Lenoir-Rhyne comes up one game short of their first national championship appearance in program history.Â

- First-Team All-American Cecilia Steinwascher scored the third goal for GVSU early in the 2nd half.Â
- The Bears were only able to muster seven shots in the game and two on goal, both coming from Allie Zueger.Â
- GVSU outshot LR 18-7, and had 10 corner kicks to the Bears' 0.Â
