HICKORY, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team got a measure of retribution against Lincoln Memorial in the 2020-21 season opener on a cold Friday night. The Bears, who fell to LMU in back-to-back SAC Tournament semifinal matches, broke a four match losing streak against the Railsplitters with a convincing win.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Lenoir-Rhyne sprinted out to a 5-0 lead before the Railsplitters came back late to make it respectable. LMU scored three times in the game's final 10 minutes.
- Stephanie Figueiredo, seeing her first game action since the end of the 2018 season, scored a pair of goals to get LR off to a fast start
- Amanda Macfarlane netted the Bears third goal of the game and Ria Acton added a fourth as the Bears took a 4-0 advantage after 45 minutes
- Just over 12 minutes into the second half, Jessica Carmichael scored her first career goal in a Lenoir-Rhyne uniform to make it 5-0
- Katherine Browning, Fabienne Loetscher and Alda Tarrado each scored late for Lincoln Memorial
- Grayson Cameron earned her first career win in her first start in goal and made four saves
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- LR dropped both matchups with Lincoln Memorial last season by 1-0 margins.
- Rosie Weaver added a pair of assists in her first career game for LR
- Lenoir-Rhyne is now 182-71-16 all-time in home matches and hasn't lost a home regular season match since falling 2-1 to Lincoln Memorial on October 13, 2018
