Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis team fell at home to Wingate 7-0 Tuesday afternoon.

In doubles, Lucy Whelan/Gemma Southwick battled in a back and forth match against Bompieri/Gunfaus, but fell short 5-7. The Bulldogs would claim the next two doubles matches to take the doubles point and go up (1-0).

In singles, Southwick battled in No. 1 singles against Bompieri but came up short 6-7, 4-6. Diana Babinets also had a strong showing in her match against Guidantoni falling 3-6, 3-6. Wingate would win the next four matches to come out with the win 7-0.

LR falls to 7-3, 5-3 SAC play and they will be back in action Friday March 26th against Anderson.
