Newberry, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis team fell in a back and forth battle on the road to Newberry 4-3 Thursday afternoon.
On the doubles side, LR was able to get up early

Gemma Southwick defeated Agud/Aguirre 6-3. Then Newberry was able to win the next doubles match, so it was left to
Natalie Lutz/
Diana Babinets to secure the doubles point. Lutz/Babinets clutched up and defeated Singh/Harfield 6-3 to put LR up (1-0) in the match.
In singles, Griffiths defeated
Sandy Mitsou 6-0, 6-4 to tie the match up (1-1). Babinets would then put LR up (2-1) beating Spice 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Southwick would continue the momentum for LR winning and putting the Bears up (3-1) in No.1 singles defeating Agud 6-1, 6-7, 7-5. Southwick has now won 10 straight singles matches dating back to last year. The Wolves would win three consecutive matches to complete the comeback and take the match (3-4).
LR falls to 3-2, 1-2 SAC on the season. The Bears next match will be Wednesday March 10 at home against Lincoln Memorial.
