HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team dropped a tough 2-point loss in Shuford Gymnasium as Coker stole a road win. The Cobras had four players score in double figures in a hotly contested game that featured seven ties and nine lead changes.

STATS AND INFO:
- LR held a 33-28 edge in rebounds, including 15 on the offensive end
- The Bears were down two of their top three scorers in
Jalen Johnson and
TJ Nesmith
- This is the fifth loss by LR this season in games decided by one possession
- Coker hops past Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC standings
FIRST HALF:
- Lenoir-Rhyne took a 33-30 edge at the half thanks to sharp shooting from senior
Kevin Kangu
- Kangu had four 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes and finished the half with 14 points
- The Bears shot 41.4 percent from the field but were able to convert 7-of-14 from 3-point range
- Conversely, the Cobras shot 50 percent from the field and went just 3-of-11 from long distance
- The Bears were able to attempt seven more shots from the field and led for the 11
th time this season at the half
SECOND HALF:
- Coker came out of the break and used a 14-4 run to grab a 50-42 advantage with 11:07 to play
- The Cobras extended the lead to 57-46 with 6:34 to play but the Bears would come surging back
- The Bears cut it to 60-57 with a 3-pointer by
Tyson McClain at the 1:34 mark
- After a pair of Coker free throws made it 62-57, Kangu would convert an old fashioned three-point play with 24 seconds to play
- Coker would miss a pair of front ends of one-and-ones in the last 16 seconds but LR misfired on a pair of 3-pointers, the last by Kangu from mid court as time expired which just went long
- The Cobras finished the second half going 11 of 18 from the field and 6 of 11 from long range
ABOUT THE BEARS:
- Kangu led the Bears with 20 points and hit five triples

Nas Tyson grabbed a career-high nine boards and added 14 points and three assists
- P.J. Joseph had a career high seven boards, six on the offensive glass

Cooper Fowler had nine points and went 4-of-6 from the field
NOTABLE COBRAS:
- Jahnarious Snell led the Cobras with 19 points and was 5-of-10 from three
- Williams Onyeodi and Demar Anderson had 12 points and Onyeodi grabbed eight boards
- Jordan Jones added 10 points but turned it over eight times
