Hansson Scores in Third Straight Game as Bears Beat Coker 1-0

Hartsville, S.C.-- Elin Hansson's hot streak continued as the freshman, who was named SAC player of the week on Tuesday and United Soccer Coaches Division II player of the week today, scored the game's lone goal today to help the Bears stay unbeaten in the SAC and remain in first place with two conference games left.  Hansson has now scored in three straight games as the Bears also extended their winning streak to three.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
  • Bears dominated the control of play in the first half as Lenoir-Rhyne held Coker without a shot in the first half.

  • Kate Casey set up Hansson's goal with her second assist of the season. The goal was off a free kick that Casey drilled from the left sideline that Hansson head into the lower corner.
  • Bears dominated the second half much like the first 45 minutes as they outshot the Cobras 12-2 in the second half but the Bears could not extend their lead and only allowed one shot on goal to come away with the 1-0 victory.
  • LR came into the contest 24th in the nation averaging 6.3 corner kicks per game. The Bears will increase that average as LR had 10 corner kicks in the contest.
  • S.A. Phillips earns the shutout in goal but did not have a chance at a save as Coker only had those two shots on the evening.
