BRISTOL, Tenn. - Lenoir-Rhyne women's tennis continued its recent tear on Tuesday, taking care of King 7-0. The Bears have now won nine straight matches, and are 11-2 on the season.
The Bears once again swept the doubles round, with the No. 1 team of
Gemma Southwick and
Lucy Whelan winning 6-3. Reigning SAC Player of the Week
Alicia Wahlberg and
Diana Babinets were not challenged at No. 2 doubles, winning 6-0. King did not have a No. 3 doubles team, so
Sandy Mitsou and
Evelin Menyhart won by forfeit.
The singles round wasn't much different. Wahlberg played No. 1 singles for the first time this season and won 6-3, 6-3. Whelan was victorious at No. 2 (7-5, 6-1), and Babinets dominated at No. 3 (6-0, 6-2). Rounding out the Bear effort today was Mitsou at No. 4 (6-1, 6-1), Menyhart at No. 5 (6-4, 6-4), and
