Ramsey's Two Goals Pace Bears Past Mars Hill

Hickory, N.C.-- Aly Ramsey scored two goals in a ten minute span in the first half to pace the Bears to a victory over Mars Hill on Saturday afternoon inside Moretz Sports Athletic Campus.  Skylar Noll added a goal right before halftime and Elin Hansson scored in the second half to extend her goal streak to five games. The Bears have now outscored their SAC opponents 14-0 in their four conference games to open the season.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
  • Coming off the bench, Ramsey scored two goals in her 15 minutes of action. Ramsey now has three goals in her last two games. 
  • In the 42nd minute, Ria Acton delivered a free kick right off the post that Noll knocked in off the rebound to give the Bears a 3-0 lead heading into the break. 
  • It was Acton's second assist of the game as she delivered the pass for Ramsey's second goal of the game. 
  • Hansson then extended her scoring streak to five games with her second half goal off a Carola Busqueta pass in the middle of the box. 
  • Kristin Oliver made two saves for the clean sheet as both Oliver's saves came in a 40 second span late in the first half. 
  • The Bears outshot the Lions 24-4 on the night as the Bears only allowed one shot in the second half. 
  • LR had seven corners kick opportunity including four in a two minute span in the first but did not score off any corner opportunity tonight.
