HICKORY, NC - The Hanley Painter Memorial Golf Tournament is set to kick off Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 25th. This event, along with the silent auction, combine to be the single, biggest annual scholarship fundraiser for the Bears Club. The year's Silent Auction will run from October 24^th-November 3^rd, and includes over 100 items, highlighted by mountain house getaways, sports memorabilia, one-of-a-kind experiences, and more!
 
The Golf Tournament will be played at Lake Hickory Country Club and still has openings for both the morning (8 am) and afternoon (1 pm) tee times. Those who wish to get involved can sign up as individual participants, foursomes, or as sponsors through their company. To sign up, click HERE.

This year's tournament will include skill awards such as closest to the pin, long drive, and three flights determined by the total age of the group (Flight 1 – 160 and below, Flight 2 -161-259, Flight 3-260 and above).
 
"We encourage all of Bear Nation to get involved with the events surrounding Homecoming," added Deputy AD for External Relations/Bears Club Director, Justin Hay. "Not only do they support a great cause, but they provide a great opportunity to reconnect with former classmates, teammates, and friends."
 
As previously announced, there will not be a Gala/Live auction this year. Alumni are encouraged to attend the 2024 Homecoming Kickoff Party at City Walk Brewery and Distillery at 7pm. More information on this event can be found HERE.
