HICKORY, N.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics will host the Bears Basketball Bash on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 6:30pm inside Shuford Arena, a FREE, family-friendly event celebrating the start of the 2025-26 men's and women's basketball seasons.
This year, the Bears Basketball Bash will bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the Hickory community for an energetic night of entertainment as well as a sneak preview of the 2025-26 LR basketball programs.
Fans will enjoy:
- Student-Athlete Introductions for both the men's and women's programs
- 3-Point Shootout and Shuford Slam Dunk Contest
- Performances by the LR Spirit Team and Band
- Fan Contests and Prizes
"Our goal is to create an atmosphere that connects our teams with the community while showcasing the excitement of Bears Basketball," said Vice President for Athletics Daron Montgomery. "The Bears Basketball Bash, including an earlier start time, is a great way to start the season and invite everyone to be part of our program."
Doors open at 6pm, with the event beginning at 6:30pm. Admission is FREE, and the first 300 LR Students will receive a limited-edition Bears Basketball Bash T-shirt.
Fans are encouraged to wear cardinal and black and come ready to make noise as the Bears hit the floor for the first time this season.
