HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's basketball team ran past Johnson C. Smith 96-72 on Tuesday, bumping up their win streak to five games.
This contest was played in front of a crowd of nearly 1,500 people, comprised mostly of kids from local middle schools. The highlight of the day came when
Keyishon Miller scored Lenoir-Rhyne's 67th point on a free throw, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

STORY OF THE GAME
- The Bears went up 7-0 thanks to layups from Sam Martin and Junior Hodnett, and a three from Julian Dozier.
- The Golden Bulls cut it to 18-16 before a Blessin Kimble layup sparked a 14-5 run to push the lead back to 11.
- Lenoir-Rhyne, who couldn't seem to miss in the first half (65.71%), hitting the half century mark on a Hodnett layup with 2:08 left in the half.
- Dozier hit a three late in the half to give the Bears a 57-33 lead at the break.
- Conrad Luczynski lit up the crowd with a dunk down the middle early in the second half, pushing the lead to 66-38.
- Keyishon Miller gave the Bears' their largest lead of the game (71-39) after an and-1 layup with 14:10 remaining in the game.
- Conner Tilley came in late and gave coach Owen's squad some good minutes, hitting a three pointer while dishing out three assists and adding a block, rebound, and steal.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Conrad Luczynski and Blessin Kimble each had 18 points to lead all scorers.
- Luczynski was also the team's leading rebounder (6) and finished with a season high five blocks.
- Julian Dozier handed out six assists while Amarion Savage had four.
- As a team the Bears were 36-70 (51.4%) from the field and 7-23 (30.4%) from three.
- The Golden Bulls were just 25-66 (37.9%) from the field and 8-21 (38.1%) from three.
- Lenoir-Rhyne's eight blocks were their highest total of the season.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Bears were just four points shy of reaching 100 points in four straight games for the first time in program history.
- Lenoir-Rhyne is now 3-2 all-time against Johnson C. Smith. These teams last met in November of 2018.
- The Bears are averaging 93.4 points per game this season.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will have a quick turnaround after thanksgiving break, traveling to Harrogate, Tennessee, on Friday for their first SAC game of the year against Lincoln Memorial. The Railsplitters are 2-2 and most recently fell 85-82 at Cedarville on Saturday. Tipoff for Friday's contest is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
