Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer team fell to Wingate in the SAC Quarterfinals as the Bulldogs defeated the Bears 4-3 in PK's. The Bulldogs now advance to the SAC semi-finals next weekend in Matthews.
Ingrid Krakhellen and
Katie Durham both scored for the Bears as the game will go down as a 2-2 tie with Wingate advancing.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The Bears got the first goal of the game off a corner kick as Ingrid Krakhellen headed in a ball from Isabella Zicchinolfi.
- Wingate then scored the next two goals during an eight minute span in the second half to go up 2-1.
- Lucia Hidalgo and Katie Durham connected for the equalizer in the 65th minute to tie it at two.
- No one found the back of the end the rest of the game, including the two ten minute overtime periods.
- There were only two shots on goal in the overtime period as no one was close for the golden goal.
- In PK's Wingate missed their first shot but hit the next four to advance.
- Riley Miller made seven saves in goal for the Bears.
- Bears had a 9-2 advantage on corner kicks.

- This was the first team these two teams have met in the SAC tournament since the 2016 SAC semi-finals.

- This was the first PK defeat for Lenoir-Rhyne since the SAC Tournament in 2017.

- Wingate was the only team in the SAC this season not to have a tie in the regular season until tonight.
