HICKORY, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics announced today the launch of a "Jersey Off Our Back" promotion benefiting both the Bears men's and women's basketball programs. The online silent auction is open now and will run until 4:00pm on January 10, in conjunction with the doubleheader vs. Carson-Newman at Shuford Arena.

The unique promotion gives fans and supporters the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind game-worn jerseys from LR men's and women's basketball student-athletes, with winning bidders receiving the jersey straight off the player's back following the January 10 games.
 
"This is a special way for our fans to directly support our student-athletes while also owning a truly one-of-a-kind piece of Lenoir-Rhyne Basketball history," said head women's basketball coach Emry Tsitouris. "The support generated through this fundraiser directly impacts the daily experience of our program."
 
All jerseys featured in the auction will be worn during the Carson-Newman doubleheader and are game-used, making each item completely unique. Proceeds from the auction will directly support both LR men's and women's basketball.
 
Fans can place bids online beginning Jan. 2 and are encouraged to attend the Jan. 10 doubleheader at Shuford Arena to experience the excitement of the games and jersey presentation in person.
