HICKORY, N.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics is proud to announce the launch of an 80-Day Bears Club Membership Campaign, a special initiative celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Bears Club. Running from January 22 through April 11, 2026, the campaign invites alumni, former student-athletes, donors, and friends of LR Athletics to honor the Bears Club's legacy while helping support the next generation of Bears.
For eight decades, the Bears Club has played a vital role in supporting Lenoir-Rhyne student-athletes and advancing the tradition of excellence that defines LR Athletics. This anniversary campaign is designed to celebrate that history while strengthening the future through increased membership, renewed engagement, and expanded giving.
"For 80 years, the Bears Club has been powered by passionate alumni, donors, and friends who believe deeply in Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics," said Bears Club President Matt Winters. "This campaign is about honoring that incredible legacy while inviting the next generation to take part in something truly special. Together, we can ensure our student-athletes continue to thrive for decades to come."
The 80-day initiative focuses on several primary objectives: maximize Bears Club membership renewals; encourage current members to upgrade their giving level in recognition of the 80th anniversary; secure new memberships; and re-engage former Bears Club members.
A central component of the campaign will be a series of Bears Club Phone-a-Thon events, with the first event scheduled for January 29, 2026. With a focus on membership growth, current Bears Club members will reach out to past, current, and prospective members. Head coaches and student-athletes will also participate.
The 80-Day Bears Club Membership Campaign will conclude on April 11, 2026, with a special celebration at the fourth annual BeaRaPaLooza event. All new, returning, and upgraded members will be recognized for their commitment to Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics.
All donors to the Bears Club in 2026 will receive a commemorative gift featuring the Bears Club 80th year logo.
