Chris Vega is the newest addition to the coaching staff, joining the Bears in the summer of 2023.
Most recently, Vega coached at Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA where he served as the Defensive Backs coach. There he developed and installed all defensive schemes to coaches and players, held position meetings and collaborated with the defensive coordinator to create the defensive identity and philosophy. Vega also assisted with special teams, specifically punt and kick off coverage. He helped develop and All-Conference defensive back in his one season and organized academic support programs for the student-athletes.
Prior to that, Vega was at Wilkes University where he was the Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach. He developed daily practice plans for all defensive units and helped with organizing position groups. He constructed game plans, tendency and statistical analysis and in-game calls and decision making. He also served as the Special Teams Coordinator and cornerbacks coach from February 2020-August of 2021 before being promoted to the DC role.
