Gordon Thigpen is beginning his first year as a Graduate Assistant for the Lenoir-Rhyne University Football Team in 2018.
Thigpen served as a graduate assistant for Reinhardt (Ga.) this past fall and was part of a squad which earned a berth in the NAIA National Championship game. Â The Eagles finished 12-1 on the season.
Thigpen lettered four years with Reinhardt (2013-16) where he was voted Team Captain as a senior and was part of two Mid-South West Division Championships. Â The 2016 squad went 13-1 and advanced to the national semifinals.
An outstanding student as well, Thigpen graduated Suma Cum Laude (4.0 grade point average) with a bachelor’s degree in English from Reinhardt in 2017.  Thigpen was also an NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2016 and a two-time Academic All-Mid-South honoree (2015-16).
