Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics

Tommy Matthews is beginning his first season as an Assistant Coach at Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Basketball Team in 2016-17.

Matthews graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in general studies.

As a four-year letterwinner on the Colonels' Men's Basketball Team (2012-16), Matthews helped guide the squad to an 85-48 record over the span and a berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament in 2014.

Matthews, a native of Clinton, Maryland, also worked the summer camps at WKU in 2014 and 2015 and did various projects in the community while in school including Shriners Hospital Volunteer, Habitat For Humanity and the Colonel Reading Program and helped clean up Lake Reba in Madison County, Kentucky.

Matthews also served as an athletic mentor and trainer as a varsity athlete.
