Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics

Sarah Lightfoot has been involved in the athletic training department at Lenoir-Rhyne since 2015 and has been an integral part of both of the Bears SAC Athletic Training Staff of the Year awards. Currently, Lightfoot oversees the football, men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s tennis teams.
 
Lightfoot has worked with the football program through much of its recent success. Under Lightfoot, the Bears advanced to the National Quarterfinal in both 2018 and 2019 and the National Semifinal in 2023 where Lightfoot was the program’s head athletic trainer. In total, the Bears have brought home four SAC championships during her tenure.
 
During her career, Lightfoot has worked with numerous programs including: softball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track and field, men’s and women’s weightlifting, women’s lacrosse, spirit and men’s and women’s swimming.
 
Lightfoot and her husband, Justin, have one daughter.
