Zack Owens enters his third season as the Defensive Backs / Football Operations coach at Lenoir-Rhyne. Prior to joining the Bears, Owens spent three years at Keiser where he helped the program to a 2023 NAIA National Championship.Â
During his two years at Lenoir-Rhyne the Bears have a combined record of 16-8 and advanced to the NCAA DII Playoffs Second Round in 2025. The Bears have ranked nationally in interceptions during both of his years on staff and two defensive backs, Nic Cheeley and Desmond Greene, have been named All-Americans.
Owens helped the Seahawks to a National Championship appearance in 2022 and had four players named AP NAIA All-Americans and three student-athletes receive AFCA All-America honors. During his tenure, Keiser produced 13 all-conference honorees as well as the SUN Offensive Player of the Year, SUN Back of the Year, and SUN Receiver of the Year.Â
