Freshman Cayla Crawley tallied a double-double (12 kills and 11 digs) to lead L-R to a 3-0 sweep over league-foe Brevard at home Friday evening.

Hickory, N.C. ? The Lenoir-Rhyne University Volleyball Team (16-9, 3-6) made it two in a row with a 3-1 win over Brevard College (11-10, 1-9) Friday evening at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium in a South Atlantic Conference affair. The Bears won by scores of 25-16, 25-13, 20-25 and 25-21 to sweep the season series from the Tornados as well.

Lenoir-Rhyne was led by freshman outside hitter Cayla Crawley (Bryson City, N.C.), who finished with 12 kills and 11 digs for a double-double, while freshman setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.) tallied a career-high 49 assists in the victory.

Sophomore middle blocker Chelsea Hill (Lexington, N.C.) added 12 kills as well for Lenoir-Rhyne, who held a 55-36 advantage in kills and finished with eight service aces.

Brevard was led by Chelsea Larsen (Greer, S.C.) and Brooke Seaman (Spring Hill, Fla.) with 11 kills each while Rebecca Schoonover (Palm City, Fla.) added 20 digs despite the setback.

Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Belmont, N.C., to face Belmont Abbey on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m., while Brevard returns home to host SAC-leader Wingate Wednesday at 7 p.m.
