Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Defeats Belmont Abbey, 3-1, On The Road

Belmont, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Volleyball Team (17-9) won its third straight game Saturday afternoon when it defeated Belmont Abbey College (4-14), 3-1, on the road.  The Bears won by scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-19 and 25-13 and were led by freshman setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.) with a career-high 55 assists and freshman middle blocker Cheyenne Cash (Shelby, N.C.) with match-high 13 kills.

Senior outside hitter Kassi Henry (Denver, N.C.) added 12 kills and sophomore libero Marrissa Church (Statesville, N.C.) tallied 27 digs in the non-conference road win.

Belmont Abbey was led by Steffanie Holler (Wake Forest, N.C.) with a team-high 10 kills.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Catawba in a South Atlantic Conference contest on Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m.
