Lincoln Memorial Downs Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-1, In Volleyball Friday Night

Harrogate, Tenn. - The Lincoln Memorial University Volleyball Team (9-3, 5-3) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (6-7, 3-5), 3-1, in a South Atlantic Conference match Friday night at Mars Gymnasium.? The Lady Railsplitters won by scores of 25-15, 24-26, 25-15 and 25-22.

Lincoln Memorial's Kaitlin Walton (Muncie, Ind.) led the way with a match-high 15 kills while Ashley Knight (Palm Harbor, Fla.) finished with 13 kills and 16 digs en route to the win.? Lauren Kiwacka (Tipp City, Ohio) added 17 assists and 12 digs for the Lady Railsplitters, who rallied from a 19-15 deficit in the fourth and final set to take the win.

Freshman setter Kaitlyn Burton (Mills River, N.C.) led the Bears with a double-double (17 assists and 16 digs) while sophomore outside hitter Katelin Wensley (Advance, N.C.) added a season-high 11 kills despite the loss.

Lenoir-Rhyne remains on the road to face Carson-Newman in a league contest Saturday in Jefferson City, Tenn., beginning at 2 p.m.

Lincoln Memorial, meanwhile,?hosts Brevard in a?South Atlantic Conference?match Saturday at 3 p.m.
