Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Picks Up A 3-1 Conference Road Win Over Brevard Tuesday

Brevard, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University?Volleyball Team (8-9, 5-7) snapped a two-match losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Brevard College?(2-16, 0-12) Tuesday evening at Boshamer Gymnasium.? The Bears won by scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-27 and 25-19 to sweep the season series from the Tornados.

Junior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury (Mooresville, N.C.) continued her strong play of late with a match-high 17 kills to go along with 16 digs for her second straight double-double.

Freshman setter Kaitlyn Burton (Mills River, N.C.), meanwhile, totaled a season-high 40 assists while junior middle blocker Chelsea Hill (Lexington, N.C.) added 11 kills for the Bears.

Brevard, still searching for its first conference win of the season, was led by Kortney Conner's (Franklin, N.C.) 11 kills and Bethany Stevenson's (Prattville, Ala.) 29 assists.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home for the first time in nearly three weeks Friday when it hosts Newberry in a South Atlantic Conference match on Friday at 7 p.m.? Brevard hosts Anderson in a league contest Friday at 6:30 p.m.
